Farsens unveils the Rocky100, the RFID chip to bring your products to their full IoT potential
The Rocky100 EPC C1G2 RFID chip is the best single RFID chip you can buy to target multiple IoT solutions by creating all kinds of battery free devices.
The Rocky100 from Farsens S.L., San Sebastián, Spain is a configurable RFID chip, so that you can use a single chip to develop multiple, distinct solutions (battery-free sensor tags to BAP data loggers). The chip harvests radio frequency energy from commercial UHF RFID readers and communicates with them using EPC C1G2 standard commands – no custom commands are required.
Amongst other features, the new chip includes:
- Configurable SPI communication, so that the RFID chip can act as master or slave depending on your solution.
- Configurable LDO output voltage, so that you can select the voltage that best suits your device's requirements.
- Quality of Service (QoS) indicator, so that you can track good and bad data values and act accordingly.
The Rocky100 can be used to develop battery free sensors such as tire pressure monitoring system tags, rotor temperature monitoring tags or soil moisture tags for agriculture and battery free actuators such as LED tags for pick to light applications. The Rocky100 can also be used to develop battery assisted solutions such as data logger sensor tags.
