RFLocus provides a passive-RFID locating solution called "Locus Mapping", telematic patented platform to locate and describes positions of asset items. RFID scanning by a handheld reader registers the location of an item on a shelf with RFID tag. The location of selected item is highlighted on the digital map. When a shelf is selected, the map lists all the registered items. Locus Mapping has high accuracy on locating asset items and setup cost.

    ABOUT

Asset item tags read by a handheld reader are accurately registered with tagged shelves.

    • As a shelf is selected on a digital map, all associated registered items are listed.
    • Location of selected items on a shelve and item information are highlighted and clearly described

    USE CASES

This solution is widely adopted in global retail.

    1. The virtual store view – Remote inventory management is facilitated with real-time positioning on asset items placed in a retail store via digital signages and/or with mobile applications.
    2. Asset item search and positioning is useful as sales information in shelving allocation operation workflow.
    3. Inventory managers can clearly find out all the inventory information on a registered map from desktop PC or tablets. Within the map view, they can also search specific items and/or confirm the locations for the purpose of restocking.

    COMPARISON

    1. Accuracy - Locus Mapping view can pinpoint a specific shelf of scanned items.
    2. Installation cost - Relative to ceiling-mount-reader solutions, additional investment into new hardware is not required as RFID scanning is by existing handheld readers.
    3. Digital map - The location of selected item is highlighted on the digital map. It is also easy to set up shelves on the map.
